What is a Flexible Working Schedule?

The flexible working schedule is becoming very popular in the work place today. Employers are trying to find ways to reduce costs and foster a more productive work environment for all employees. They are now doing this by changing the traditional Monday through Friday work schedule. The employee may work more hours per day or less hours per day. In some situations, the staff may work more days or less days per week. This type of work schedule will vary by industry, by department, and by each individuals work requirements.

First, the flex working schedule is developed based on the company or industry. A hospital has to be opened 24 hours per day. The hospital will offer a work schedule for some nurses to work ten hour days for four days a week and they will have three days off from work. There are also nurses that work only on weekends and they have the rest of the week off. Flex working schedules will vary based on the companies and the industry.

Next, the flex working schedule is developed based on the department where the job is being performed. A department store has set operational hours. The department store managers will work with floor supervisors and employees to develop a work schedule that will help them serve their customers quickly and efficiently. For example, the department store may close early if sales are declining after 7:00 pm or just have one sales person assisting customers. On the other hand, a local police department will allow officers to rotate night shifts with supervisor approvals.

Then, the flex work schedule is based on individuals needs and the work requirements. A college math professor can put in a request to work a 90% work week which means he will work 36 hours per week. The professor will work Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and have a 1 hour lunch each day. On Friday, the professor will work from 8 a.m. to Noon Friday and have no lunch hour. Families are changing and employers are constantly adapting to individual work schedules.

Finally, the flex work schedule will vary based on many factors. The work industry, the department work environment, and the individual work load will all determine what kind of schedule is necessary. Today, employees are simply submitting a request to their supervisor for a flex schedule. The flex schedule may also include work from home responsibilities.

I have been in a couple fender benders in my day, however I was never at fault for these collisions. Not fully understanding auto insurance at the time because I was a youngster and my parents were paying the bills, I never really thought anything of it. One night I was having a conversation with my mom and she reminded me about a time when I was rear-ended in my older sisters Jeep. I was at a stop light, some oblivious driver behind me didn’t stop in time, and WHAM, police were called, insurance companies were notified, and due to someone else’s carelessness our insurance premiums went up.
After a little research I’ve found out that the main reason this happens is because some “uncouth” drivers use accidents as a way to make money, which leaves the honest drivers at a severe loss. Even when it has nothing to do with my driving skills, my awareness, or my honesty, we ended up paying more money because someone just wasn’t paying attention. If there was ever a topic that “grinds my gears” its auto insurance, and unfortunately (although with good reason), it is illegal to drive without it.

Don’t get me wrong, I think auto insurance is great, should anything terrible ever happen I would be covered. It just makes me a little angry that the poor guy getting slammed at a stop light not only has to deal with neck pain, but also the pain in the ass of higher premiums.

Since the economy is so bad and the money is so tight, Staycation’s are the easiest and cheapest way to kick your feet up to relax and enjoy your family. We all know about our schedules these days, it’s almost impossible to get everyone together. But with some planning, find a weekend in advance that no one has anything planned then book that date. If you book the date, they will come. Once everyone is there, just shut off the phone(s) (and if you’re daring, the TV) and turn on your imagination! There are no limits to where your imagination can bring you. It will bring back some good ole’ fashioned family values and show everyone that not everything enjoyable has to be electronic or alot of money! Make it simple, use what you have. Ride a bike, kick a ball, jump a rope, take a picnic lunch to the park, fly a kite or take a walk. If you feel adventurous, go to the library or explore your town. Most towns now have websites that you can visit to find some free offers and local events. If you choose to go historical, you might learn a few new things about the town your living in. Your Staycation will be a memorable one and you will not be disappointed. The savings and the time that you spend with your family will be immeasurable.

Many people are deciding to find work online because the way the economy is. Many people find it easier to find jobs online versus going out looking for one. There are many jobs that you will be able to find online, you just have to be careful. Most of the ones that you will actually run into may in turn be scams. HP stops tablet production

One of the biggest giants in the computer world, hewlett packard, recently announced over the weekend, that they will no longer be producing the tablet pc computers, which they had introduced into the market within the past few years. The major reason for the decision was the competition from the leader in the industry, Apple and the Ipad, and from Google, which also offers a tablet which is killing the sales of the hewlett packard tablets. After poor sales figures of products this past year, the company made the announcement that they would be pulling out of the tablet, smart phone, and palm industry, only one year after they had spent billions of dollars acquiring the technology to put these machines on the market to consumers. But, the sales don’t lie, and the fact that HP tablets just can’t keep up with the giants in the industry, was the major decision factor as to pulling their tablets off the market.

Although the company will continue to sell servers and other equipment to business consumers, they just are not able to keep up with the competition, and are not surviving in the tablet market. The move to remove the products came after Best Buy, reported that moving the stock of HP tablets was just too difficult. The company stated that of the 250,000 tablets which they had in stock, they had only sold about ten percent of those tablets, meaning that the other items were just sitting in the stock room collecting dust. And, Best Buy stated that they were going to require that HP take the remaining stock of tablets back, as it was costing the retail giant too much in costs, to keep such high levels of stock, especially of a product which was not selling in their stores.

As the webOS for smart phones has also been struggling against mobile giant Google and the android market, HP announced that they would also be eliminating the smart phones and touch pad phones which they sell to the consumer market. So, if you are looking for a great deal on a tablet, now might be the time to start scouring the black markets and online markets for an HP before they are out of production.
